Skill level is competent beginner.
Prerequisite: Students should be able to increase and decrease and work garter
stitch.
What you will learn:
how to work intarsia in both stockinette and garter stitch
how to use multiple colors without tangling
tricks for designing with color-shifting yarns
tricks for ad finitum knitting — i.e. winning at yarn chicken
how to mirror increases
Maximum 20 students.
½ day workshop
Students receive a handout in booklet form; and the pattern to make a scarf, shawl, or ruana are provided as part of the class materials.
No materials fee.
No homework.
Supplies:- at least four colors of class yarn (smooth, non-splitting, light or bright or medium color) — small leftover skeins are fine
- needles to work that yarn in garter stitch
No special needs for the room set up. A whiteboard or flip chart is nice to have but not need to have. I have a projector if the facilities can accommodate it. Room set-up should be tables and chairs either facing forward or in a U-shape.
