A Push

For longtime readers, this post may seem incongruous. After all, I'm usually posting about knitting or about very personal happenings in my life. I try to keep the content here upbeat and relevant.

Today, I am asking a favor.

I've been asked to run for Board of Trustees for Penn State University, my alma matter. The first hurdle in the process involves getting 50 nominations by tomorrow night, Tuesday 4 February 2025 at 5 PM eastern standard time. As of this morning, I am at 41 nominations.

If you or anyone you know is a graduate of Penn State University, please ask them today to go to PennStateVotes.com, enter their information to confirm they are eligible, and then enter

on the nomination ballot. If you have trouble getting in through the website, you can get help at PennStateVotes@yeselections.com or call 855-820-7021. My husband used the e-mail address and was sent a link.

If you've taken a class with me or worked with me, you know my character. If you could please share this post or ping your friends, I'd much appreciate it. Those who asked me to run are trying to find more nominations, and they would appreciate the help, too, please.

To use a football metaphor, there's less than 2:00 minutes to go. I need to drive the length of the field and kick a field goal to pull out the win. I need every nomination I can get. If I miss, it's likely to be by fewer than 5 nominations, which would be a sad thing. Thank you for every bit of help!

May you always get gauge, find matching dye lots, and win at yarn chicken!
